AMIP Announces 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status to Enhance Advanced Manufacturing Workforce, Drive Talent Development
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP), is proud to announce it is now a nonprofit with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. AMIP is eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to provide educational events and programs among manufacturing employers, educators, and community agencies in the tri-state area.
Amy Meyer, AMIP President, stated: “AMIP is thrilled to be awarded our non-profit status which will allow us to broaden our reach to students, school administrators and employers to fortify our mission of building our region’s manufacturing talent pipeline.”
Since its formation, AMIP has served as the southwest region’s industry sector partner (ISP) for the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA). Through innovative solutions, it helps manufacturers connect with workforce and talent resources to find and retain a highly skilled workforce through traditional and non-traditional talent pipelines.
“Manufacturers are working around the clock to meet their customer’s demands, with the toughest challenge being talent and a skilled workforce, one of our most important issues in Ohio. Manufacturing is the largest industry sector in Ohio and AMIP is addressing the workforce needs head on,” said Eric L. Burkland, President Emeritus, OMA. “There are four million manufacturing roles needed in the next decade and AMIP is playing an integral role connecting regional employers, educators, and community partners in the development of skilled talent in Ohio.”
Burkland works to support AMIP through his current and previous positions within the OMA. In January 2021, OMA and AMIP secured funding through an Ohio Industry Sector Partnership Grant that supports expanding the Advanced Manufacturing workforce pipeline while meeting the needs of job creators and the local economy.
To help guide the organization further, AMIP is assembling its Board of Directors with a combined experience of over 70 years in manufacturing. More details about the board of directors will be released at a later date.
AMIP is holding an event on the 24th of August, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Monti Inc. 4510 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45229.
